The PATS MECOR 2018 course recently took place in Durban, South Africa.

The Pan African Thoracic Society – Methods in Epidemiologic, Clinical and Operations Research course was successfully held at the Coastlands Umhlanga Hotel & Convention Centre in Durban, South Africa from 16 to 20 April 2018.

About 40 students attended Levels 1, 2 or 3 over the week in order to strengthen their skills and build capacity for clinical and epidemiological research in lung health in Africa.  Lectures were delivered by international faculty who are experts in various aspects of lung health.  PATS continues to support and advance initiatives which address the need for African-based research that will drive the respiratory research agenda in the continent.
