The PATS and ERS paediatric webinar series continues with a Respiratory complications of HIV infections webinar on 22 May 2023. 

Clinicians in Africa and Europe need to be aware of HIV-infection and exposure on the spectrum of disease children can present with. With increasing immigrant population in Europe and a still a high number of children born exposed to HIV in sub-Saharan Africa, it is critical that clinicians share the latest research and management strategies in children with HIV-infection and exposure. 

Educational aims

The webinar will address the spectrum of respiratory infections and disease in children who have HIV-infection and HIV-exposure. The impact on access to anti-retroviral treatments on the spectrum of disease in children with exposed to HIV and sharing recent data on vaccine responses to important respiratory infections in this cohort of children.

Learning Outcomes

After this webinar attendees will have an overview of the scope of respiratory tract infection in HIV-infected children. The changing paradigm in management and presentation of respiratory tract infections in HIV-infected and HIV-exposed children including recent data on care pathways for respiratory management in this vulnerable group.
