The PATS MECOR 2018 course was held at the Coastlands Umhlanga Hotel & Convention Centre in Durban, South Africa from 16 to 20 April 2018.
The course took place in the week following the PATS & SATS 2018 Congress and was held in conjunction with the The International Multidisciplinary Programme to Address Lung Health and TB in Africa (IMPALA) meeting at the same venue
MECOR students from numerous African countries received training and assistance in research methodology, initiation of research projects and publication. During the week, students worked in small groups to develop research projects.
On the last day of the course, students presented their research projects, successfully showcasing all they had learned during the week.
The Pan African Thoracic Society is a major professional organization representing Lung Health in Africa.
