01 July 2023 is “World Bronchiectasis Day”

Today on World Bronchiectasis Day, PATS joins with our partners in the Forum of International Respiratory Societies (FIRS) to highlight awareness of bronchiectasis as a cause of chronic respiratory symptoms and disability.  In Africa, bronchiectasis may follow infections particularly TB or severe pneumonia, but is frequently unrecognised and untreated. Improved diagnosis of post-infectious bronchiectasis is key to controlling troubling symptoms and preventing exacerbations.
